Plans for Glen App Windfarm on Public Display

27/03/2012

ScottishPower Renewables, the developer of the proposed Glen App Windfarm, is holding a series of Public Information Days, which will detail the changes they have made to the proposed project layout since visiting communities in May last year.

The original proposal for a 33 turbine windfarm has been reduced to 14, following an extensive programme of environmental survey work and feedback from local communities and consultees.

Attendees to the Public Information Days will be able to see photomontages showing what the development would look like and will be able to discuss the detailed survey work undertaken by the project team and have any questions answered.

These are drop in events and there is no need to make an appointment.

They will be held at the following locations:

Kirkcolm, Kirkcolm Public Hall, Church Road, Kirkcolm
Monday 26th March 3pm until 7pm

Cairnryan, Cairnryan Public Hall, Main St, Cairnryan
Tuesday 27th March 3pm until 7pm

Ballantrae, BRICC House, 12 Main Street, Ballantrae
Wednesday 28th March 3pm until 7pm

John Alexander, Project Director for ScottishPower Renewables said:

“These Public Information Days are a crucial part of the planning and consultation process and the feedback we receive does make a difference and I’d encourage anyone interested in the project to attend one of these events as we are committed to listening to the thoughts of the local community and answering any questions they may have.”
