After completion of the windfarm, the building will be used for the operation and maintenance of the 70 wind turbines and the offshore substation in the Baltic Sea. The building is the first construction of the new offshore-base port in Mukran.

Jürgen Blume, CEO of the Iberdrola Renovables Offshore Deutschland GmbH, said: “The opening of the O&M building is an important step towards the planed inauguration of the windfarm itself. We are proud to be the innovators in the base port of Mukran.”

The two story building at berth 1 of the Mukran Port, built by German construction company Goldbeck, consists of office rooms where the windfarm can be monitored. The building, which also includes several workshops and a material warehouse, will be shared with Adwen and it will become the heart of the project for all operation and maintenance tasks on the different components and equipment of the project.
