The Site does not fall within any Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or National Parks and there are none of these located within 2km of the Proposed Development.
This area is characterised by an expanse of flat or gently undulating, lush, pastoral farmland, which is bounded by the Mersey Valley National Character Area (NCA) in the north, with its urban and industrial development, and extending to the rural Shropshire Hills NCA in the south.
The Shropshire Union Canal is located approximately 400m to the south of the southern boundary of the Site and forms part of the Shropshire Union Canal Conservation Area.
