Introduction
ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited (“SPR”), acquired EEB33 Ltd (Sparrow Lodge Solar PV) from Elgin Energy in January 2022 and is developing a ground mounted Solar Photovoltaic (PV) array, and associated infrastructure, with a generating capacity of around 20MW, located around 6km to the west of Milton Keynes in England. The Site is within the administrative boundary of South Northamptonshire Council.
Development Description
The consented development would compromise of ground mounted solar arrays which have a generating capacity of approximately 20 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. This is equivalent to the average annual UK electricity consumption for 6,000 households. The solar array area will cover approximately 40 hectares of land. The development has been designed to allow livestock grazing to continue around and underneath the solar panels, maintaining agricultural use.

Project History
The Planning Application for the solar site was submitted by RPS on behalf of Elgin Energy in November 2019 and was consented in March 2021 for a 40-year operational period. Since then, SPR have been progressing all post-consent and pre commencement activities.
