Introduction
ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited (“SPR”) acquired EEB22 Ltd (Thurlaston Solar PV) in January 2022 and are developing a solar PV scheme which is located north-west of the town of Enderby with the City of Leicester being located approximately 2.4km to the East. The village of Thurlaston is located approximately 900m to the south-west and the village of Desford is approximately 3.4km to the north-west. The Site is within the administrative boundary of Blaby District Council.
Development Description
The consented Development consists of solar panels arranged in rows covering a footprint of 60.69 hectares of the total 80.17 hectare total area. It is expected that the panels will collectively have a capacity of approximately 40 MW and will generate enough low carbon electricity to power up to 15,000 houses every year.

Project History
Elgin Energy EsCo Limited submitted an application for planning in March 2018, with development being consented in September 2018. Since acquiring the site, SPR have been progressing all pre-commencement activities.
